asycronous javascript and xml....sounds sexy eh
do it in js and the search engines can read it, do it in flash and they cant. both as easy as each other depending on yr knowledge / experience
failing that do a 1 pg folio!!

I've actually got the site working pretty much as I want. I've adapted a nice collapsable menu system with subfolders and I've got those links working across my frameset to the content frame, which now contains images which are viewed one at a time using javascript. Simple.
