Hmm...I definitely wouldn't spend that much on an animal (for material things, anyway). I think some animals are cute, but overall I'm not an animal person. Many people don't understand how I'm not an animal person, and it's hard to explain. I never say bad things about an animal or hate them...I just wouldn't own one unless it was very low maintenance.
With kids, I would have like 2, but I probably will not have them until I'm like 30. And kids will most likely be more important to me than animals.
