I agree, sputnik.
But I'm a hypocrite since I have been biting my nails for like 10+ years now. The thing is, my nails don't look like they've been bitten - they just look really short, most likely because my body is used to it and it doesn't look abnormal at all. Also, I never bite them in front of other people (unless I'm really bored).
Nail biters tend to have a bit of OCD, because of their need to straighten out rough edges and have control over that at all times.
