"I live in Downtown Long Beach, which totally fuckin rules! Seriously, you should consider long beach. Its a really good mix of city and beach. I live 2 blocks from the sand and also about 20 really cool bars/restaurants etc within steps from my house.
Also, the commute to newport would be about 20 mins, but you get to take PCH and drive next to the ocean every morning, not a bad way to start the day.

I used to live on linden and broadway. in the old broadlind hotel. that place is dope.
anyway, newport sucks ass. I have 2 friends that have lived there for a couple years now and I cant stand visiting them. same bars, same people, same styles and of course the same hoes. Its a very nice place but the community and the people are wacky.... they actually live in their own little world. (rich crazy people) costa mesa is not bad, i lived their for a while.... i dont know about dirt cheap rent, who said that? the lowest I could find was 1200 for a small 1 bed. thats not dirt cheap to me.
fuck it. san diego is the spot.
