if you buy used.. make sure you can go and test it first... just to make sure it's in good condition and everything works fine.
I just sold my iMac and MacBook on Craigslist and bought a MacBook Pro. I let both buyers come and test the machines before making the purchase. Make sure to ask why they're selling and possibly proof of purchase to make sure you're not buying stolen property.
If everything checks out fine and the owner treated their machine nicely, then it's a smart buy for a lower price.
