Macbook Vs Sony Vaio

Had a Vaio, still got it. Just got a MacBookPro. Mac is very nice, BUT in many ways the Vaio since it runs windows seems to work in a more conventional way. As a consequence I'm running XP on the mac which is not perfect either. Problem is that OSX is that I feel OSX is better to live with for me, but as the rest of the world I interact with appears to be on windows, my Mac world feels a little odd and behaves a little odd too. Similarly windows on the Mac is not perfect either.
Example: my mobile phone only syncs with windows, not mac. Spent three or four hours trying to get the hash key and UK pound sign working on Mac keyboard, quite a few websites I visit regularly do not work as well in Safari as they do in IE. Had major video playback issues at somepoint too.
Anyways - Mac is lighter and looks better than Sony. Am using it now - will learn to love it more in time!!
