I did this once before. I fought, and tried, and fought, and reasoned, and compromised, and fought until I knew there was nothing more I could do. And then I walked away. To surprise, everything turned out wonderfully. I'm not saying that is always the case. And in hindsight you may feel it was not the right thing. But I would do it again, and sometimes you have to go until you get to the point where you will always know in your heart you did everything possible. After that, it's not you anymore. There is someone else in the situation. They do have a responsibility to you as well, and don't sacrifice your own soul in forgetting that. Best of luck.
