look, the whole thing was stupid, if they'd have some more pop culture savvy people it would've never been blown out of proportion.
but unfortunately 2 planes left boston's airport (which isn't menino's jurisdiction, but still) one summer day six years ago...and i think that really killed menino. he felt in some way responsible for it. so he prolly thought this was gonna be the second biggest shock in his life.
