I have a story that might lift the malaise by a semi-sharp hair.
The link below is to a PDF of the book I wrote/edited/designed for the woman who is now my wife. It's a history of selected emails that passed between us while dating. The 'fine print' at the bottom of each page is my surreptitious take on what we were really trying to say. Page 68 was written a couple days before i proposed.
I gave her this unbound book (I ran out of money so had to bind it with a bellyband) in a rosewood box after dinner one night. I read the last page aloud as I got down on both knees to read what she soon realized was a marriage proposal.
