ken if this is what the client has already staated to you, this means go purchase fireworks, or bring in your own copy, or bill them for it, or dont taake the job.
you mention my line of work in your rant and you are wrong again. i can make a bag with a pen, a pencil, a computer, telepathy, use collage...ken this is meant by "what ever it takes" its not that different, you are being hired for your individual problem solving skills and your ideas for the creative flow you wish to show them, but if the knowledge of not know the functionalites of one program to the next, the first thing you need to do is start to learn that progrm that tool that pencil with magic lead over posting why i hate the things in the world that i dont know how to solve makes my mind numb crap, all this time is wasted and wow photoshop isnt all that hard to learn considering you do use fireworks, your attitude to go forth and complain about a 2 hour commute is falling down to no one, lots of people travel great distances to do them same thing...stop crying about it, becaue the reality is you havent taken that job and you diddnt start teh 2 hour commute which btw is 4 hours you lose of f your day where you could be mastering oh what the fundamentals of photoshop???
