Does anyone have a link to the advantages that Liquid speaks of?
What's the 'extract a pixel' and boxes and move layers stuff that you speak of?

in fireworks, as you mouse over objects, there is a visual indication of the object that is directly under the cursor (ie. for a vector object, you get an outline of the vector shape, and for text, it outlines the text field) see:
it's very handy if you want to select an object. if you select that object and hold the mouse button down, you can drag it around the image. basic stuff, i grant you, but more than any other app i've used, the developers seemed to really look at workflow and make the process of using the app intuitive and easy. granted there's stuff that photoshop can do way better, but for 90% of the stuff i do in ui development, fireworks does a great job.
