2 cups of sugar, make a syrup out of it and steep the mint in the syrup for 20 minutes, remove the leaves and replace 4 ounces of the makers mark with the steeped mint syrup, throw some other bruised mint leaves inside the bottle and throw it in the freezer until you can't wait any longer. Im trying to save it for spring. pack shaved ice into a cup, pour the julep over the top and serve with mint and a straw. I have been wanting to do this for a long time and finally met the devil this morning.
all this really means is that I am going to do 4 shots of makers mark in a few minutes, early fruit of my labor. can't wait til april!
