but really, this is a job that is about obeying, killing and getting killed. it either takes predestined special people or utterly naive (euphemism for dumb) ones, or in countries with obligatory service not being smart enough to avoid it.
I am sorry, I just don't understand how people can be surprised by dumbass violent behaviour of any army. They might be quite civilized (don't rape, burn and steal everything they see) unlike the red army in the ww2, but still, they're what they are.
