Forgot to mention...
I haven't really cared much for Fender or, especially, Gibson in a long time. Especially Gibson - they make expensive instruments with all kinds of flaws, bad fretwork being my biggest pieve.
I built my main strat from Warmouth parts and I HIGHLY recommend it. You learn a ton in the process and I have an instrument that works for me better than anything I've played in a store. Its been my main axe for 7 years now! You'll spend as much as you will on a factory guitar, but you get MUCH more for your money in the end.
