i'm a dog owner (big ones), and i suspect that most of their erratic behaviour has to with the feeding, and lack of exercise. pitbulls are very strong and stuffing them with the common available feeding options and confining them to a small space... well, you're just making a grenade. more than any big dog of the guarding kind, pitts need a lot of running and energy waste.
it's like those people who talk too much. if you don't give them enough hear, they'll probably fuck you someday.
