well, I'm not sure about how much graphic design applies. But I know through times of strife, I can create some fucked up, honest art.

Me too. Inner struggle definitely encourages me to sensor less, which is kind of refreshing sometimes. Sometimes it just produces sappy sentimental garbage, but some of my favorite pieces come from these times of introspection as well.
