I got rear-ended in L.A. where they don't send police unless there is an accident w/ injuries. Soooo, even though all the damage was to the front of their car and the back of mine, 6 months later, their insurance still haven't accepted liability. (what you / they say is utterly unimportant) I had to get a lawyer right away to avoid paying everything out of pocket.
So, get a lawyer, and you might as well chill. It's going to be a while before this is settled. (btw, any decent lawyer will work on contigency and only will charge you if you win your case)
