every manufacturer makes shit and great stuff so it's really about the name brand but about the price. ANything below $200 lens wise is definatly not PRO (unless you are talking primes and stuff) still that alone shouldn't deter you. What you are looking at is the low f-stop as you said you shoot a lot at night. Me too so all my lenses can open to f2-2.8 so tons of light gets in. Most of the lenses mentioned are f-4 (or similar) which means that you need 2x as much light as lens with f2 stop.
