Gobots are from '82 based on Machine Robo from Bandai
Challenge of the Gobots was released in '84 coincidentally, the same year Takara started selling Transformers in america through Hasbro after they (Hasbro) suggested combining Takara's Diaclone and Micro Change toy lines into the "Transformer" line.
If you got lost, Gobots were first.
