Also, it depends on what China does. You know the whole Dick "Deficits don't matter" Cheney is going to be eating some humble pie, if China starts dumping US dollars on the market to trade for Euros to invest...
And you're also seeing some strange bedfellows - Saudi Arabia with Isreal as a ally vs. Iran and Syria? (Basically Sunni + Isreal vs. Shiites)..
Where Russia plays i nthis is also key - as they are tied into Iran..as is many European nations - Germany, France - who would be in their interest to see the petroeuro become standard.
And then there is Chavez who has stated he wants to trade in Euros as well...
Of course, the sooner the US gets itself off heroin..I mean oil the better, but noooo we have the big money boys having Johnny Six Pack fight petro wars for the next two decades...as they get rich..
