    VectorMasked,

Maybe you just know the wrong Mormons. I'm not saying that I like and agree with all Mormon people, I feel just as out-of-place among them as you probably did growing up Mormon. I just think you are being narrow-minded.

I was at a party last night with a bunch of artists, film-makers, and other interesting sorts of people and they were mostly Mormon. Open minds may be the minority in Mormonism, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

And as for there being a lot wrong with the church, that's just not true. There are plenty of things wrong with Mormon people, but the church itself basically teaches you to be a good person, stay healthy, and serve others. I think everyone, regardless of their beliefs could agree that those are good things.

Sorry for going off. I'm just tired of people in general being down on religion. It sucks because the only time a religion gets any publicity is when some extremist idiot takes his misguided faith and turns it into violence, bigotry, or just plain stupidity. There are plenty of normal people out there who are religious. Agnosticism isn't a prerequisite for open-mindedness or acceptance or creativity.

If you think so, then you are the one being closed-minded.

I wasn't talking about four members of the church. I was talking about the vast majority of members I have met throughout my life.

Not all mormons are bad, but there is certainly a lot of things that are wrong with this church.
