i think u will have a lot of problem trying to attach ur system to a closed source app.
at first it seems a good idea to make the the final users prefered tool to dbe an input web documents.
but then you realize that word has many versions, the operation has to be a blackbox for users (just click and go) and u will be lost in many versions, connections, webs and conditions to meet this simple task.
it's a moving target, dude.
