either hulk smash them or drown them. drowning is worse for them, but you don't have to watch or do anything.
i think the idea of taking them to a park is the least humane - they're barely alive, and would just lay there dying slowly.
seal up the holes around the pipes in your kitchen, it's getting cold and they'll be trying to get inside.
every night i fall asleep to the sound of rats crawling and fighting and squealing in my walls. it's creepy.
