It's interesting they would choose to auction something so valuable on Ebay. It seems that Southby's or one of those high end auction houses would be better at handling such a large transaction. As it is on Ebay, any joe blow with an account could enter in a dummy bid amount just as a joke. The worst that might happen if you don't pay is you get your account suspended.
It seems like you would want to prescreen your bidders.
