MONEYCIDE: Jesus already knows about the fossil evidence. ;)
The trouble is that we have fossils without soft tissue. We can only compare morphological homology. This can only tell us that there once existed creatures that shared features of apes and humans. And that perhaps they "evolved" ultimately into modern homo sapiens. However, the evidence shows that these fossils are distinct in their morphology and appear suddenly in the fossil record without the thousands of intermediates that Darwin's theory demands.
