haha, gee
I recently read a story about men's rights and I agree that it should be equal. The man pill is a good idea because it further prevents unwanted pregnancies. However, there are several issues at hand here (which my friends and I outlined a few days ago):
(1) yes, the law should not be discriminatory to either gender, taking all extraneous circumstances in hand etc. so, nobody should be forced into parenthood.
(2)start from the root people. why do folks in general have children they don't want? i'm sure it can't be attributed to 'birth control failure' for more than very very few cases. PEOPLE SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE SAFE SEX.
why? because there is a lack of education, and because the conservative social agenda promotes abstinence education only, as opposed to considering realism.(3) most of the time, due to biological..circumstances (it is attached to you with a giant cord, you have to be there when it comes out, you can't exactly run away immediately..etc.) women are forced into unwanted parenthood. while not always, some of the time - the law seeks to equalize this by placing responsibility/blame on BOTH of the parties involved.
(4) Probably the best course of action is to only have unprotected sex with someone you care about and are willing to raise a child with.
I'm very aware of the continuing discrimination against women in society, but that doesn't mean that men should be treated unfairly to make up the difference. Neither should be treated unfairly; that's why we call it equality.
