    You could say there's poetic dialogue in any form of entertainment. That doesn't mean The Wire isn't a brilliant show, with probably the best writing of any television series, ever.

    I also don't think it glamorizes anything. Some idiot might romanticize something in their own head - hell, there are wankers who wanted to be mobsters after seeing Good Fellas - but it's not the program's responsibility to moralize. Their only obligation is to tell compelling stories, and get at the larger truths, which this show does better than anything out there.

    As a sidenote, if I here one more story about JazX's ghetto upbringing I'm going to puke. Come spend a week in East Oakland talking that gibberish and see what happens to your scrawny white ass.
