Like I need more cars, but I went to look at another 66 ambassador this week. It's in really good shape, pretty dirty, but it's been sitting outside at this hidden car lot for a decade. It still fires up first attempt. The muffler fell off leaving the lot for a test drive.
I was originally bringing a friend to see it, who loves mine.
He didn't fall in love with it, but since I am mental, I did. I just can't help thinking about it sitting there, abandonded from it's original owner, who traded it for a modern car.Driving down the street, reminded my of when I first got the 59 rebel... just barely hanging on, I'd step on the gas full throttle, and there'd be a pause before it fired... then it would peel right out. Like it was trying to give me all of it's life so that it could have it's chance to drive on the streets again.
I bargained buddy down to a couple of grand and told him I would have to rearrange some cars and think about it.
I also looked at a 71 Javelin, with a 401 last week. Basically stock, it takes off like a rocket.
It's the only car that I really want right now, and have been looking for one for a while. And it's right here in town, so I've got some thinkin' to do.Mentally yours,
