    my thoughts too, if theres so many then it doesnt make them essential - essential to who?!
    essential-mix type things from the likes of portishead, massive atack, coldcut etc ARE good listens as theres a bit of "education" in there.
    but these crap dance djs - they do my head in. one set sounds like the other - you really wouldnt know if it was "DJ XYZ" djing the tune or if it was his granny.
    more rediculous are the mix cd's you see on sale.
    why listen to someone elses choice in songs, go get your own music tastes!
