a beanbag fired from a shotgun would have diffused the situation much faster.
shot a guy once with that and it's all over. kid would have been screaming even more like a little bitch.
cops... (good cops that is) don't get the respect they deserve, and more and more these 'I HAVE RIGHTS' assholes are the ones who blow the situation way of proportion, then, when they get their ass beat they're the ones suing.
how this situation should have gone...
cop: do you have an id son?
kid: no, not on me.
cop: policy says you have to leave.
kid: but i'm a student.
cop: sorry, no id and you can't stay.
kid: ok. i'll remember it next time and leave peacefully and not be a complete dick and make a scene for my own stupidity of forgetting my id.
cop: cool. have a nice night.
but instead.... he ended up screaming like a little bee-atch.
