I run into girls of friends who are girls all the time ... I send text messages to their actual friend (if they are hot) going, "Hey Mr. Creepy is going to talk to -so and so- from My Space!!"
Then what I do is not tell them I know them from MySpace, but just use all their answers to surveys, as the basis to spark a connection with them ... because I'm a fucking horrible person, who is shallower than a kiddie pool.
