(^ main draw is the mercury fountain from the 1929 world exhibition in paris)http://www.barcelona.com/barcelo…
(^ usually has some interesting exhibitions)http://travel2.nytimes.com/top/f…
(^ kiosko universal in the boqueria - amazing seafood)http://www.bcn.es/turisme/englis…
(^ smaller, more intimate, more beautiful cathedral than the main one)i, for one, don't rate barcelona's picasso museum at all. i find it quite dull compared to its parisian counterpart. but then again, i hate dali, too. if you want to get a feel for catalan art, you can't go wrong with the tapies foundation and the macba.
the textile museum, however, which is right around the corner from the picasso museum, is well worth a look: http://www.museutextil.bcn.es/en… (and the cafe in the courtyard has pretty good food)
gracia is a lovely place to chill out, as someone mentioned above. lots of good lebanese food up there and some lovely tapas bars.
i also quite like the museum of the history of the city: http://w10.bcn.es/APPS/wprmuseuh…
and the le cool guide is a must.
