has anyone actually killed an animal? like, slit a pigs throat or axed a chickens head off?

(Nov 15 06, 10:39)i grew up in the country and worked on a farm up until i was about 14.
maybe when i was 7 or so i saw a chicken get it's head cut off by the farmer i worked for. he put the chickens head between two nails on a stump and WHACK then he let the chicken go and it ran around and around and i just stood there stunned until the thing ran into my leg and i got blood all over me.
i don't think i ate chicken again until i was in high school. no lie.
that really fucked me up.
now i don't even take off their heads anymore. i just eat them whole. fuck it.
when i was much older i was with the farmer when he had to put down a cow that had cancer. he dug a big hole behind the barn with his backhoe, calmly walked the cow back to the hole, stood the cow next to it and shot it in the head.
i happen to be eating a beef jerkey stick at the time. i had no idea what was going on as i walked back. i saw him walking away with the cow and was like wtf... is he going to fuck it?!? so i walked back and saw him shoot it.
haven't eaten jerkey since.
