    Not really. The US Military was using Internet technologies, Cell Phones, etc., before any of you were. You can also enlist as an officer, which not only pays extremely well, but pretty much ensures you being out of the way of frontline fire. Friend, who served, makes 125K as a communications expert working for Verizon. Similar field technologies used. Don't assume shit.
