To anyone that is worried that their old extensions won't work, there is a work around. Most extensions WILL work, they just have a version number embedded into them that firefox checks for and if its for an older version, it simply doesn't allow it's installation. To enable them, follow these steps:
- type about:config into your address bar in firefox
- right click > new > boolean
- preference name is extensions.checkCompatibility
- click ok
- set to false, click ok
Thats it, the next time you run firefox, all older extentions should work. I'm using a number of older ones including the gmail notifier and ftp bookmark sync.
