Yea, the creepy dad did what any father would have done.
Which in my book gives him bonus points.
He kind of reminds me of Robert Kelley (X-Men) in which he wants to find all the Heroes (Mutants) and get rid of them.
Except he needs a Hero (Mutant) to help him, and in turn can control him (or them if they join up I guess) to rule the world.
Which is probably the cause of the explosion in some mega-fight.
This whole "save the cheerleader" thing is very lame though, like the empathy powers (though they are Rogue-ish).
