    Yes and No.

    Its a great tool for learning the very basics of OOP and event based programming.

    However, although light and portable (mobile phones, pda's etc) it does not (yet) have the power, flexability, security, extendability, portability and integration to compete with high level languages such as Java (J2EE etc).

    Its good... because its simple to learn and gives instant satifaction to those who use it -lets face it - animation is far more interesting than the typical 'hello world' you'd learn in lesson 101 for other languages/applications).
