married for 2 years now, knew the girl for 10 years...
I flew to Chicago, got a room downtown and asked her in the room. Then went for dinner...
I would suggest doing it in a cool way, but make sure you two are alone. You don't want some shmuck coming over and f'in things up.
Also remember that the first question that any girl gets asked is "How did he do it?" So she will be telling the story over and over again...
