for one of the reasons monokrom mentioned, it's a social thing, it's a weak formality and has little to do with love and trust. I have had some really bad violent strugles in my youth when my parents should have divorced, which happened way too late... and now that they live apart they are friends again...confusing enough for me.
lemme love as a human should, and not worry about the cultivated sidekicks of it..
