Expect everyone to be rude and inconsiderate, unless of course they need something from you. Especially getting on and off the Subway. There's something that happens to people during that split second of living that makes them so fucking ignorant and selfish i could go on a killing spree.
Also, expect the unexpected. I've toured the midwest twice...it sucks. Get ready for some culture buddy!
