kidswift, yeah thats one of the reasons i stopped skating seriously because there were 14 year old kids busting moves that i still hadnt mastered after 14 years OF skatign haha.
i had a bit of a scare one day skating in glasgow down sauchiehall street one morning to the station (when i was commuting from glasgow>edinburgh for work).
i had a record bag full of records on my back so was a bit strangely 'weighted'. i misjudged one of the kerbs on one of the roads between the pedestrian areas and i ended up going ass over tit and slamming on my front, my board went under the front wheel of a car, flipped up and dented the side of the car. i got up, grabbed my board (as it came wheeling back towards me) then jamp on it and skated like f*ck so i didnt have to deal with the car driver (and his new dent). the board was snapped in the middle but was still intact hehe. later that day in edinburgh i was skating along princes street and a big issue sellers dog decided to attack the bottom of my jeans, so i had to jump off board and kick the dog to get it off me!
i thnk those events were someone trying to tell me something so never really went on my board after that.
