theres a beautiful wood skate park in a warehouse in dundee called 'the factory'

check out the erskine street version from about 17 years ago. i was one of the wee skaters there. ive got some amazing vid footage from it (cmoplete with jesus jones soundtrack)

the factory that exists now is run by a church group - no joke!

theres an old concrete skate park in livingston too

there used to be one in glasgow in an old church (back about 18 years ago!) dunno whats there now. glasgow has always had a big skate scene. theres a few good shops through there

is the oldest and best - its been going for abotu 20 odd years. if you are serious about starting then go up and ask them in the shop where the best spots are.

if you are serious about starting then goto a proper organised skate park like the factory in dundee cos they'll do private lessons.

ive skated since i was about 10 years old (30 now) but i stopped about 4 years ago. mainly because as you get older you lose your daredevil 'bottle' and doing scary tricks becomes a bit more scary, bones are a lot less bendy and they break more easily.

even if your not going to be popping tricks (but it is good and an accomplishment even just to learn to ollie up kerbs etc) or if your not going to be skating vert ramps, skating is still a good way to get about a city - especially glasgow - lots of hills :) and its good for building up one leg :P (the one you push with) lol.

get some decent soled shoes if you are skating glasgow streets, you'll need the soles for braking!

    have fun.

those suggestions about youtube are a great idea. you should start a video diary of "25 year old learning to skate for the first time ever". it could become HUGE!
