well, i think the problem might be that j5 is a group that's always had a totally gentrified following.
you might have been in brixton, but you weren't really in brixton, see?
if you want to experience something really cool in that neighbourhood you should go to the effra which is a pub where they have live jazz and great soul food like goat curry.
hit it up on a thursday or friday and you'll get to mix with the cool old fellahs with their hats on playing domino while they listen to the music.
