    what sort of good food?

    Cheap eats on Portobello Road:
    Babes n burgers
    Thai Rice
    Galicia - tapas - Golbourne Rd end

    Mediterraneo on Kensington Park Road just off Ladbroke Grove is a great italian restaurant. not trendy but delicious and marvelous service.

    Loits of little restaurants on All Saints Road.

    More towards Westbourne park there are Lucky 7 and Crazy Homies (mexican) on Westbourne Park Road, handily close to pubs The Cow (specialises in oysters) and The Westbourne (yummy pints of prawns if you can be arsed with something so fiddly). Also there's a great little restaurant if you turn right around the corner from The Cow.

    Notting Hill Gate: The Windsor Castle is a great pub with a lovely beer garden.
