sorry to hear that, dude. when i got the axe at the end of the dot-com boom, they had a security guard in the corner - i assume in case someone went postal. when they asked me how i felt about it, i gave them my best r.p. mcmurphry smile, looked at the rent-a-cop quickly, and said, man, i feel like i could choke the shit out of someone right now. there was an akward silence before i said, i'm just fucking with you, this is for the best anyway - 3 weeks severance and unemployment benefits for the last year of grad school.
