at this point, in the movie of Kona's life, we begin to follow 2 alternative story lines - one where Kona scratched the right panel, and one where he didn't.
Down one route, money, fame, a string of expensive and glamorous women, and ultimate bitter, lonely ruin, with only dollar bills to comfort him
Down the other, a long character enriching struggle, a love affair that never dies, 40 kids and a conent and happy old Kona.*screeen fades out on K smoking a pipe, on a rocking chair
