At the same time, I hate when I make a lot of effort to stay in touch with people and they don't make any effort whatsoever. And then one day they say, "So how come you never talk to me anymore?" or something similar, and I just want to slap them.
So...maybe you should just be glad that someone is trying to contact you and just dismiss the calls or talk to him for a bit. It's only a few times a year.
