flagellum: "If i club someone into a coma or worse because it helps me blow off steam, why is this wrong? "

I'll answer a question with a question: Why do you need a higher authority to tell you that is wrong? The psychological definition of clubbing someone without conscience is "sociopathy". Are you saying that all who don't subscribe to a higher authority are sociopaths?

The measure of right and wrong are not absolutes, with or without a dogma to describe them. How would you feel after you clubbed that someone? "God is going to punish me" or "wow, i just did something bad". If it's the former then I'm scared of you. All it would take to justify the clubbing is "God's ok with it". Which is generally how jihads and crusades get started.

To answer your question, though - I can judge your actions against whatever code of ethics I subscribe to, just as you'll judge me against yours - it doesn't matter to me if you're sectarian or not if you're clubbing me. I still you know you're a bad person for doing it.
