You shouldn't need any plugins. To be used as a compositing tool is one of AE's primary functions. Play with the key color effects for removing the green tint. That's the heart of the keying functionality. There should be a good handful of tutorials online for this, or look into one of the "After Effects in Productions" series books. Regarded as the best AE books.
