i ended up taking moth's advice, actually. went with a headlamp and looked bewildered...
shit. i thought it was a CAVING party.
there was a gladiator with a huge jug of vodka tonic who wouldn't let your glass stay empty for more than a nanosecond.
i got blitzed and was glad of the headlamp on my way home.
